1. Use a hot towel to wipe local stains

Every time a down jacket is washed, the lifespan is discounted once, so wash as little as possible. If it is only partial, it can be wiped with a hot towel. Generally, down jacket fabrics are not afraid of water. You only need to drop a few drops of neutral laundry detergent on the dirty place and wipe it off with a wet hot towel after 5 minutes.

2. No washing powder

The poultry down in the down jacket is a protein fiber. You can't use these strong alkaline detergents, soaps, etc. to clean it. Remember not to use enzyme-added laundry detergent. This will cause the clothes to become stiff after washing and drying. It is best to use a special cleaning agent for down jackets, which can reduce damage.

3. The water temperature should not be too high

Put the down jacket in cold water and soak for 20 minutes to make the inside and outside of the down jacket fully moist, then put the special detergent into warm water, and then put the down jacket in to soak. The water temperature should not be too high, below 30°C, which is about the same as the hand temperature, and warm water should be used for rinsing.

4. Never rub and twist

Soak the down jacket for 10 minutes and start washing. Do not rub the dirty clothes with your hands. Use a soft-bristled brush or an old toothbrush to brush all the important parts and areas that are easy to overlook, and then use clean water twice. After washing, you should squeeze out the water with your hands facing each other along the fabric.

5. Avoid exposure to the sun

The down jacket can be dried in the shade in a ventilated place, and exposure to the sun will accelerate the aging of the down jacket fabric. After drying, it can be tapped on a hanger to restore the fluffy down jacket.

6. Wipe mildew with a cotton ball moistened with alcohol

In the summer rainy season, it is best to take the down jacket out of the closet and check it to see if it is moldy. If mold is found, wipe it with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol, then wipe it with a clean damp towel, and put it away after drying.
